We
took delivery of Oso Blanco on March 14th and our first guests
arrived March 17th! Eric's brother, Paul, and his daughter,
Maddie, came for six days. Actually, it was a big help to us
as we were still moving in and Paul and Maddie entertained Bear
while we worked. In fact, they spent an entire day at
Disneyland where Bear acquired this fabulous Mickey Mouse Pirate hat
and sword.
Later in the week, we took our maiden voyage
to Catalina Island. The weather cooperated and Maddie and Bear
even attempted to swim in 53 degree water temps! Brrr....
 A
week later, Grandma Boo (Eric's mom, Shirley) came to fulfill her
dream of boating "26 miles to Catalina". Because of a poor
weather forecast, we were only able to spend one night at Catalina
but we dined out in Avalon and explored the town. We had a
great time!
Pat
Dunsworth, a long time friend of Eric's, overlapped with Shirley for
one night on his visit. With Pat, we cruised down to San Diego
to visit an old college buddy, Rolf Yngve (photo right with Ann and
Bear). Pat is a terrific photographer and captured some of
Coronado's famous structures.

A
few days after Pat's departure, Rich and Janet Howe came from Salt
Lake City to spend their 22nd wedding anniversary aboard Oso Blanco.
We took them to Two Harbors on Catalina Island where the
temperatures climbed into
the 80's. We enjoyed hiking,
kayaking and watching for dolphins and seals.
