Robert Connor Bloomquist, better known as "Bear", began his boating
career at the delicate age of three months. In fact, the name
"Bear" came from boating in Mexico where he was a main attraction as
the fair-haired, white baby amongst the darker Mexican complexions.
"Roberto" became "Bertito" which eventually shortened to
"Bear". At that time, we were aboard our Nordhavn 40, KIVA.
